Assistant Extrusion Line Manager

Direct Hire position, company located in Phoenix, NY

Salary range 70,000-85,000

Assistant Pilot Extrusion Coating (Lab) Line Manager                                     

Assist the General Manager as needed specifically:

• Lab trial planning – reviewing lab trial questionnaire with customer, completion and documentation of all trial requirements and expected outcomes, identification of all material requirements and disposition of all materials on completion (returns [samples and materials], disposal, storage,…), collecting MSDS, safety planning
• Lab set-up coordination –plan, schedule, and lead work required to set-up the lab line for planned trials, prepare and pre-test systems for reliable operation on customer arrival, stage materials, coordinate all in-house support requirements
• Mechanical change-over of modular components as required
• Run lab trials – safety orient new participants, lead the operation of the machine for scheduled lab trials, set process parameters as determined and agreed in trail planning, coordinate the work of supporting technicians, observe and record critical process data and system response, document observations for summary reporting, adjust trial plan and process settings to achieve the trial plan objectives, clean up
• Coordinate machine maintenance, troubleshoot problems, document issues and remedies
• Facilitate the set-up and operation of the extruder

Clean die lips

Clean and set EPC deckles

Position purge cart and disposal of purge materials

• Observe and monitor line operation during trials and report observation to the Lab Manager
• Coordinate all activities during the trial with the lead operator and general manager

Additional Duties

• Additional duties may be required from time to time including but not limited to:
• Review critical operating parameters of the extrusion line by component and prepare standard documents for recording and reporting operating data and performance with supervision of others
• Coordinate activities with local suppliers and vendors for support as required

Special duties

• Plan and prepare lab trial using DOE to understand & quantify process interactions
• Lead experimental trial, collect data, summarize in report suitable for publication at TAPPI-IFPE, SPE-FlexPackCon, AIMCAL, or SPE-ANTEC
