The DWP partnered with Modis* to transition to an AGILE methodology & improve the development lifecycle.

The Scenario

An existing team of developers provisioned by a 3rd party incumbent supplier were under performing in respect of technical expertise, cultural fit and quality of outcomes. Whilst this supplier was fully engrained within the Development and Tooling sector, the client felt that there was an opportunity to enhance the development lifecycle, driving towards a more structured process.

The Solution

We augmented the function with 50% of the development workforce aligned to an AGILE methodology via ServiceNow, and provided weekly SCRUM reports on the delivery outcomes of the team. These have been commended for the speed at which they were implemented, the quality of the work, and the valued benefits of the superior cultural fit to the business environment within the first 3 months.

Next Steps

We have continued to add value in the last 24 months working with the client through the addition of Business Analysis enabling the scheduling of the development roadmap and sprint cycles.

This has continued to alleviate pressures in the wider development space and has enabled the client to reduce their resource risk along with providing better cost surety on outcomes.
